Iranian Forces State Assault on American Facility in Bahrain, As Part of Widespread Counterattacks.
Iranian forces say they have struck a US naval base in Bahrain, as the country executed operations across the region in response for a "massive" and ongoing offensive against it by the US and Israel.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity in the area of the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The scope of any destruction is not yet known and the United States has not commented.
Missile Defenses Activated
In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Kuwait - which all house American military installations - stated they have shot down incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.
In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had intercepted a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the Middle East.
Iran's Declared Retaliation
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared it was striking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the offensive on Iran initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday.
That initial attack - initiated at around 06:15 GMT - has so far targeted sites linked to the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump encouraging the people of Iran to revolt against the leadership.
Regional Fallout
In the State of Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israeli military stated it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates announced that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems dealt with the missiles with great effectiveness and successfully intercepted a series of missiles," it added.
It said wreckage landed in a populated district in the capital, causing some property damage and killing a civilian.
The US Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
